An open letter to the dive community from our director:

Fellow Divers:

In late 2002 my dive buddies and I had a problem and it was all centered around our dive logs.

We love our logs and continue to do so, but the market offerings didn't meet what we really wanted. From every dive we would have information from cameras, dive computers, area maps, dive site maps, buddy verifications, gps co-ordinates etc. As a group we were very quickly faced with a case of information overload and trying to decide Where do we put all really neat stuff we had and wanted to keep.

The immediate solution was we simply started to carry around file-o-faxes or organiser diaries just to keep all the information together.

Digital cameras came on the scene next and everybody in the group instantly had one. The new problem rapidly became managing, printing and sharing all these images.

We all took a step back and said there had to be a better way and we came up with bubblelog.

If you would like to expand your dive log to include any of the following:

  • Marine Life Photos
  • Dive Site Photos
  • Dive Site Maps
  • Dive Site GPS Co-ordinates
  • Wreck Diagrams
  • Multiple Dive Log layouts
  • Marine Life Scientific Listings (including names, descriptions and habitats)

then bubblelog is the place for you.

We have tried hard to bring together as many elements of the diving experience as possible into the one place that really counts, your dive log.

We will continue to expand over the coming years as more people jump on board and bring their ideas with them but if you have something that you would like to add just jump straight in and either a post message on the forums or drop us a line directly at the addresses listed on the contact us page.

I hope that you and your dive buddies can enjoy sharing the experience through bubblelog just as I have with mine.

Happy Diving,
Tim Williams
