If you are going to be using the GPS information contained within this site to try and find any of the listed dive sites then please be aware of the datum used.

Where-ever possible we have tried to quote coordinates using the latest international standard based on the Earth-centred ellipsoid, the GRS80. In Australia this means that we are using the Geocentric Datum of Australia (GDA).

The specific coordinate system that most of our existing points have come from is the 1994 map grid of Australia coordinate system - MGA94. To my knowledge this should be interchangable with the GDA94 coordinate system.

If you are using the older Australian Geodetic Datum (AGD) with coordinate systems such as AGD66, AGD84, AMG66 and AMG84. Then the coordinates from this site will be incorrect for you.

If you wish to learn more about this try http://members.ozemail.com.au/~diving/articles/gps.htm#gps as an excellent start for further resesarch.
